Imqaret- Date filled snacks of Malt.

Imqaret


Ingredients
400g flour
75g sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1egg
Filling
250g date paste
chopped nuts
1 tsp cinnamon powder
Method
Mix first four ingredients & keep aside for an hour.
Roll out the dough & cut in 10 cm discs.
Brush the edges with water.
Put the filling, fold & press the edges with a teaspoon.
Repeat the process with other discs.
Heat oil & fry Imqaret's.
Cook both sides until golden brown.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.

Imqaret's are the snacks of "Malt". They are usually diamond shaped.
