Radish RotiIngredientsRadish with tender leaves - 71 tsp fennel seeds1 green chilli2 garlic cloves1 tsp saltA piece of ginger2 tbsp dessicated coconut / 2 tbsp freshly grated coconut2 shallotsCurry leaves2 cups rice powder1/2 tsp turmeric powderSalt to tasteLuke warm waterMethodCoarsely grind the first 9 ingredients & keep aside.  Add  salt & blended mixture to the rice powder.Mix with sufficient amount of water to get a stiff dough.Keep aside for an hour.Take a lemon sized dough ball on ur left palm.Dip ur right... Carrot Badam Halwa for Navaratri

Carrot Badam HalwaIngredients2 carrots(finely chopped)2 cups almond powder11/2 cup sugar70 g butter / ghee2 glasses of milk1/2 tsp cardomom / nutmeg powderMethodUse a chopper to chop carrots.Melt ghee &  fry them till translucent.Add a cup of milk, cover & cook it.Then add sugar & almond powder. Add  another cup of milk .Stir continuously over medium heat.When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, remove from fire . Mangalore BunIngredientsA banana (mashed)3 tbsp sugar60g curdA pinch of saltA pinch of nutmeg powder6 tbsp flour1/2 tsp baking powderOil for fryingMethodMix first five ingredients & mix well. Then add flour with baking powder & knead well.Cover the bowl with a damp cloth & keep aside for 3 hours.Take a marble sized ball & flatten it using a roller( 7cm discs).Repeat the process with other dough balls. Chottanikkara Temple, Thripoonithura,Cochin

Chottanikkara Rajarajeshwari Temple The Chottanikkara Rajarajeshwari Temple is located 15km northwest of Cochin. The whole temple complex consists of  Melekkavu & Keezhekaavu. The Melekkavu diety Rajarajeshwari is worshipped along with Lord Vishnu. The laterite idol of the Bhagavathi & the granite idol of Mahavishnu are on the same pedestal.
