Kadaif - Middle Eastern Sweet

Ingredients
125g crushed walnuts (25 nuts)
125g almond powder
100g sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tbsp orange water
** for syrup**
180g sugar
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp honey
1 cinnamon stick

50 g melted butter
Chopped Pistachios

250 g kadiif ( shredded filo pastry)
Method
Mix first four ingredients & keep aside for an hour.
Thaw kadaif pastry & separate them.
Pre-heat oven to 180°C.
Pat the nut mixture onto a greased dish & then scatter uniformly the kadaif.
Brush the top with melted butter & bake for 15mn until golden brown
Make syrup using sugar, water & honey.
When it thickens, remove from fire.
Using a sharp knife cut into diamond shapes & drizzle syrup over them.
Return to the oven for another 5 mn.
Decorate with chopped pistachios & serve.
