Apple Cake with Almond Flakes
Apple Cake
Ingredients
2 apples (peel,core & cut into thin slices)
Juice of half lemon
100g butter
150g sugar
150g flour
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp corn flour
2 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
1 cup almond flakes
for topping
25g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon powder
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Mix the apple slices in lemon juice & keep aside.
Cream together the butter, sugar & salt .
Add beaten eggs.
Sieve the flour and baking powder together and fold into the cake mixture.
Pour half of the batter into the greased cake tin.
Arrange apple slices on the top.
Mix the remaining batter with almond flakes & pour over the apple layer.
Sprinkle (sugar+ cinnamon) mix on the top
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes.
Serve with tea.
