Potato Fritters - Spicy Malabar Snack
Potato Fritters
Ingredients
3 medium sized potatoes
An egg
2 finely chopped onions
1 tsp ginger paste / chopped ginger
A green chilli (chopped)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
4 tbsp gram flour
2 tbsp rice flour
Curry leaves / coriander leaves (chopped)
Oil for frying
Method
Peel,wash & cut potatoes into fingers.
Beat an egg with chopped onions & chilli.
Add both the flours (gram + rice) & mix well.
If the batter is thick add some water. Keep aside for 15 min.
Add chilli powder, ginger paste & cumin seeds.
Then add potato fingers & chopped leaves.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Pour 1 tbsp full of the batter.
U can prepare 4/5 vada's at the same time.
Cook both sides until golden brown.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.
Serve hot with tea or as a starter.
