Ingredients
3 tbsp dessicated coconut/ freshly grated coconut
1 green chilli
2 garlic cloves
A piece of ginger
Curry leaves

3 cups roasted rice powder
2 tbsp flour
3 cups of luke warm water

alt to taste

500g mussels (fresh / frozen)
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste

2 onions (chopped)
Coriander leaves
Garam masala
Method
Coarsely grind  first five ingredients & keep aside.
Mix rice powder & flour with sufficient amount of water to get a stiff dough.
Keep aside for an hour.
**Mussel Filling**
If you are using fresh mussels steam cook & remove the flesh.
Clean, de-beard & marinate them with chilli+ turmeric +salt.
Heat oil in a pan & fry the marinated mussels.
Chop the fried mussels & keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan & fry onions to light golden brown.
Then add blended coconut along with some water.
Cover & cook for 5mn.
Then add mussels & stir for a while.
Garnish with coriander leaves & garam masala.

Take a lemon sized dough ball on ur left palm.
Dip ur right hand in water  & flatten the dough into disc of abt 10 cm.
Then place the the mussel filling in the middle.
Carefully seal the edges & make a ball.
Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
Steam cook for 10-15mn.
Serve these spicy mussel balls with tea or as a starter;
