This swan shaped suspension bridge is built over the River Maas to connect the Northern & Southern parts of Rotterdam. The bridge was designed by the Dutch architect Ben Van Berkal & was inaugurated on Sep 4th 1996 by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. This 800m long bridge is supported by 139 m steel pylon & 40 cables. On the top there are two sidewalks, two cycle tracks, a tram rail & two roads for vehicles. Today Erasmus Bridge is an icon of Rotterdam & due to it' curve it's popularly known as Swan.
