Spicy Cream Cheese Beignets
125 g cream cheese (fromage blanc)
2 shallots (chopped)
1 green chilli (chopped)
A small piece of ginger (chopped)
1tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp baking powder
2tbsp olive oil
Chopped Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Beat cream cheese with chopped shallots, ginger, chilli & curry leaves.
Then add beaten eggs & olive oil.
Sieve the flour and baking powder together and fold into the prepared mixture.
If the mixture is thick , add some milk.
Cover & set aside for an hour.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Take a spoonfull of batter & fry.
Using a slotted spoon splash hot oil on the top.
Turn over & fry the other side.
When golden brown , turn over & cook the other side.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.
Serve immedietely for tea.
