Raspberry Financiers

 Raspberry Financiers Ingredients (9) 90g egg white (3 eggs)90g icing sugar60g almond powder30g flour60g butter (melted)1 tsp vanilla essence A pinch of salt 9 raspberriesMethodPreheat oven to 170°C. Mix almond powder with melted butter. Then add flour, vanilla essence & a pinch of salt.Beat egg whites with icing sugar & add to the prepared cake dough.  Pour the batter into the greased 9 hole silicon baking mould.Decorate each financier with a raspberry.Bake for 15mn until risen & light golden-brown.

Lion's Mound, Waterloo, Belgium

Lion's Mound The Battle of Waterloo took place on June 18th 1815 at Braine -l'Alleud ,15km south of Brussels.  The troops from Britain, Holland & Prussia fought against French troops for 10 hours. Cheater Churros

Cheater Churros Ingredients 2  puff pastriesSugarCinnamon powderMelted butterMethodPreheat oven to 180°C.Roll out the puff pastry.Using a sharp knife, cut into a finger long strips with 2 cm width.Place a parchment paper over a baking sheet & arrange them.  Bake for 8-10mn, until puffed & golden brown. Mix sugar with cinnamon powder. Dip a side of the puffed strips in melted butter & then roll in cinnamon+ sugar mix. Keep aside for 5 mn & then serve.

Polish Poppy Seed Cake

Poppy Seed Cake  Ingredients200g flour 200g corn flour200g butter150g sugar A pinch of salt5 eggs 80g black poppy seeds2 tsp baking powder1 tsp vanilla essence Method Preheat oven to 180°C. In a bowl beat eggs.Cream together the butter, sugar & salt .Add beaten egg & mix well.Sieve the flour and baking powder together and fold into the cake mixture.  Mix well & pour the batter into the greased cake pan. Bake for 35- 40mn until risen & golden-brown.Serve with tea.
