1/2 cup splitted green gram (cherupayar parippu)
2 cups water
1 beetroot (peeled & chopped)
1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
2 tbsp condensed milk
A pinch of salt
1/4 tsp cardomom powder
Raisins & Cashews
Ghee for frying
Dry roast splitted green gram & pressure cook (3 mn) along with cloves.
Heat ghee in a pan & fry raisins + cashews .
Drain & keep aside.
In the same pan fry chooped beetroot.
Then add sugar & fry again.
When beet is cooked in sugar syrup, add cooked green gram along with milk.
Stir well & then add condensed milk.
Stir for a while & then remove from fire.
Add a pinch of salt, cardomom powder & mix.
Decorate with fried raisins & cashews.
