Rose Apple Custard Tartlets

Ingredients
1 frozen puff pastry
4 medium sized apples
1 cup sugar
Juice of a lemon
Half cup of water

2 cups milk
5 tbsp sweetened custard powder
A pinch of cinnamon powder
Icing sugar

Method
Pre-heat oven 180°C.
Wash & slice apples vertically using mandoline.(2 mm)
Mix the slices in sugar & lemon juice .
Cook for just 3 mn & drain .
Keep aside to cool .

Boil milk in a thick bottomed vessel .
Dilute custard powder in a cup of milk without any lumps.
Add to the boiling milk & stir continuosly.
When it thickens , remove from fire. 
Set aside to cool.

Roll out the puff pastry & cut it into 11 cm discs.
Lightly flour the 12 hole muffin tin.
Press  the discs in each hole & prick the base with a fork. 
Lay the apple slices (10) in a vertical line, one over the other.
Then roll them in the shape of a rose & place them in each muffin hole.
Repeat the same with the other apple slices.
Spoon each tartlets with the prepared custard & bake for 20 mn.
Remove from the oven & sprinkle sugar on the top.
Return to the oven & bake for another 2mn.
Set aside to cool & chill in the refrigerator for an hour .
Dust with some icing sugar & serve.
