1 cup yellow split bengal gram (kadala parippu / channa dal)
250 g hamburger meat / ground meat (lamb)
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp fennel seeds
An onion (chopped)
A green chilli (chopped)
2 tsp chopped ginger
2 garlic cloves (chopped)
An egg (optional)
Coriander leaves ( chopped)
Salt to taste
A pinch of cardomom powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
Oil for frying
Soak dal in water for five hours.
Drain, grind to fine paste & add to the minced meat.
Add chopped onions, green chilli , coriander leaves.
Then add coriander powder, chilli powder , turmeric powder & salt
Mix well & then add garam masala & cardomom powder .
Make evenly sized balls , & flatten into a discs.
Heat oil in a frying pan & deep fry till golden brown.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.
Serve hot with tea or as a starter.
