Konkan Mackerel Curry

Konkanmack

Ingredients
1 cup freshly grated coconut
3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder

4 mackerels (cleaned)
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste

2 tbsp oil
1 tsp musturd
Few curry leaves
2 green chillies half slit 
Few dried mango slices / Tamarind (berry size)
3 Sichuan peppercorns (triphal)
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Method
Blend first five ingredients to fine paste. 
Marinate fish with chili -tumeric & salt.
Cover & keep aside.
Soak tamarind in a cup of water & keep aside.

Heat oil & splutter musturd seeds.
Add few curry leaves & then the blended coconut paste .
Add tamarind water. (discard the pulp).
Mix & let it boil for 3mn.
Ten add marinated fish pieces.
Add green chillies & Sichuan pepper. 
Simmer & cook for another 3mn.
Garnish with curry leaves & s
erve with rice.
