Ingredients
4 mackerels (cleaned)
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste

2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard
Few curry leaves
An onion (sliced)
5  shallots (sliced)
2 green chillies (half slit)
3 garlic cloves(crushed)
1tsp poppy seeds (grind)
1 tbsp coriander powder
 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
3 big tomatoes(blended)
Tamarind (berry size)
*Dry roast & grind*
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Coriander leaves
Method
Dry roast fenugreek, mustard & cumin seeds.
Grind to a fine powder & keep aside. 
Marinate fish with chili -tumeric & salt.
Cover & keep aside.
Soak tamarind in a cup of water & keep aside.

Heat oil & splutter musturd seeds.
Add few curry leaves & sliced shallots.
Then add slitted green chillies along with crushed garlic.
All all the powders ( chilli, tumeric& coriander).
Fry for a while & then add blended tomato.
Add tamarind water. (discard the pulp).
Mix & cover & cook for 5mn.
Then add tamarind extract & a cup of water.
Cover & cook for another 5mn.
Then add marinated fish pieces.
Simmer & cook for another 5mn.
Garnish with roasted powder & coriander leaves.
Serve with rice.
