Machar Do Pyaza


3 Boops boops (Bogue) 
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
An onion (paste)
1 cinnamon stick 
2 cloves
A bay leaf
2 green cardomoms
5 black pepper corns
 2 big onions (sliced)
2 big tomatoes (sliced)
3 cloves of garlic (chop & blend)
A piece of ginger(chop & blend)
A green chilli (half slit)
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
Curry leaves / Coriander leaves
Garam masala 
Freshly ground black pepper
Oil for frying
Wash fish & blot dry with kitchen paper.
Marinate fish with,chilli  tumeric & salt & keep aside for an hour.
Shallow fry them & keep aside.
Blend an onion to a fine paste
Heat oil in a pan & fry cinnamon stick, cloves.
Then fry sliced onions till  translucent.
Add garlic+garlic  paste, green chilli & fry again.
Add red chilli powder +turmeric powder + coriander powder & sugar . 
Fry for a while & then add sliced tomatoes.
Add a cup of water , close with a lid & cook for 5 min.
Then add fried fish & cover them with the onions & tomatoes.
Simmer & cook for another 5mn.
When the sauce has dried, remove from fire
Garnish with coriander leaves , garam masala & freshly ground pepper.
Serve with Indian bread / rice.
