Green Gram + Plantain Curry - Cherupayar Erissery

Ingredients
1 cup freshly grated coconut 
3 shallots
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chillies
3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Curry leaves
*Pressure Cook*
1cup green gram (Cherupayar/ Moong daal)
1 big plantain (cut in cubes)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
*To Temper*
3 tbsp coconut oil / veg oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 dried red chilli
2 shallots (thinly sliced)
1 tbsp grated coconut 
Curry leaves

Salt to taste
Cumin powder 

Method  
Wash, peel & cut plantain in small cubes.
Coarsely grind  first seven ingredients & keep aside.  
Pressure cook green gram & plantain cubes with a pinch of turmeric.

When cooked, add coarsely grinded mixture & salt.
Cover & cook for a few minuites.

Heat oil in a pan.
Splutter mustard seeds & then cumin seeds.
Add curry leaves, red chilli & sliced shallots. 
Then add grated coconut.
When light brown add to the prepared curry.
Garnish with curry leaves & cumin powder.
Serve with rice or any other Indian bread.
