"Salon du livre"- Paris Book Fair

Paris Book Fair India was the guest of honour at the Paris Book Fair 2007. In this occasion, French invited Indian authors &  publishers. Some of them were Vikram Seth, Shashi Tharoor, M. T Vasudevan Nair, Gita Hariharan, Shashi Deshpande, Kalpana Swaminathan, Pavan K. Varma, Ravi Shankar Etteth, Sudhir Kakar, Sarnath Banergee, Vaiju Naravane- Journalist & Publisher of "The Hindu". Some Indian books were translated into French language.

Agriculture Fair in Paris.

Salon Internationale de L'Agriculture Every year , in the first week of March Paris hosts an International Agriculture Fair . This enables the Parisienne kids to admire the livestock of their country. Kids can feed & milk animals. Above all they can taste the agricultural products.

Mushroom hunting

Mushroom hunting   Mushroom hunting is the favourite hobby of the French in autumn season. There are edible & poisonous varieties. So it's very important to identify the wild mushrooms before eating. Champignons de Paris / Parisian button mushrooms ( Agaricus bisporus) is one of the famous edible mushroom. In France, Loire valley is famous for mushroom production.

Musée du Louvre.

   Louvre Museum    Royal Palace of the Louvre (Palais du Louvre) was built around 1190. In 1370, King Charles V  converted this castle into Palace. This was demolished in 1527 and a Renaissance design was planned for Francis I, completed during the reign of Henry II.  In 1678 the Royal Residence moved to Versailles and the Palais du Louvre became an art gallery. La Basilique du Sacré Coeur

La Basilique du Sacré Coeur The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is situated on top of the Montmatre hill - the highest point in Paris.The construction of this Romano-Byzantine style church began in 1875.Panoramic views of Paris from the top of this church is really breathtaking. One can visit the church either by taking steep steps or by funicular railway.
