Pazhani Temple, Tamilnadu .

 Pazhani Temple Pazhani/Palani temple on the top of Shivagiri hill is devoted to Lord Subramanian / Lord Murugan (Hindu God of War). It's situated in the Dindigal district of Tamilnadu. This is one of the richest temple in South India with more than 7 million pilgrims a year. The devotees can reach the temple by steps ,winch (10mn) or by cable car (5mn). Scary Trip to Serene Rock :)

Ferry ride to Vivekananda Rock   Hop on to ferries to visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Poompuhar Shipping Corporation operates ferry services  from 8 am to 4 pm & the charge is Rs.20.Here the waves are turbulent because it's confluence of the Indian ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian sea. Thiruvalluvar Statue in Kanyakumari

Thiruvalluvar Statue Thiruvalluvar was a famous Tamil philosopher-poet who lived 30 yrs before Jesus Christ. He is the author of Thirukkural - a masterpiece in Tamil literature. It is written in couplets that explains the various aspects of life. Cape Comorin - Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari Kanyakumari / Cape Comorin is the southern most tip of peninsular India. This is the place where two seas & an ocean meet - Arabian Sea, Bay Of Bengal & Indian Ocean. Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple is the unique temple in India where the trinities of Hindu mythology are worshipped together in one sculpture called Sthanumalyam -  Stanu is the synonym of Shiva, Maal for Vishnu & Ayan for Brahma. The idol rest inside the hollow of a 2000 year old Laurel tree (konnayadi). Two Churches Of Tranquebar

Zion ChurchZion Church was built by Danes in 1701. It has a spiked dome. New Jerusalem Church  The New Jerusalem Church was built in 1718 by Bartholomäus Ziegenbalg. The marroon coloured  Danish Royal Crown Insignia &  the date of construction are seen on the façade of this church. A Greek Cross is also found on the top.

Ziegenbalg MonumentBartholomäus Ziegenbalg & Heinrich Plütschau were two German missionaries sent by Frederick IV of Denmark to preach Christianity in India. They landed at Tranquebar coast on July 9th 1706. They were the first protestant missionaries to Indian Sub-continent. Masilamaninathar Temple on the Tranquebar Coast

Masilamaninathar Temple   Masilamaninathar Temple was built in 1305 A.D by the Pandya King Maravarman Kulasekara. This 13th centuary temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva & is built in Indo-Chinese architecture to attract Chinese merchants. Last tsunami engulfed the main gopuram & the carved granite pillars.
