Cannes Film Festival

Festival de Cannes City of Cannes is situated in French Riviera.This town is famous for it's International Film Festival - "Festival de Cannes", which takes place annually at "Palais des festivals".This year it''s hosting the 60th annual film festival. (16 Mai au 27 Mai 2007). The Golden Palm Award (Palm d'Or) is given for the best film. Palm beach of Cannes, stretches from the "Palais des festivals" to the City centre.Cannes harbour is impressive with world's exclusive yachts.

Strawberry MilkshakeIngredients1 cup sliced strawberries1/2 cup chilled milk1 tbsp sugar3 scoops of icecream (Vanilla/Strawberry)Combine all the four ingredients in a blender & serve.

Sweet Pola Ingredients2 cups rice flour10 g fresh yeast 1 tsp sugar 1 cup semolina 1 cup coconut milk 5 tbsp sugar1/2 tsp saltRaisins & chopped cashew nutsMethodDilute yeast in luke warm water with 1 tsp sugar . Set aside for 15 minuites.Blend semolina with one cup of water & cook in medium heat for 5min.Add this to the rice flour.Then add diluted yeast & coconut milk.Mix well & keep aside for 6 hours in a warm placeIf the batter is thick add some more coconut milk.Grease the Idli mould with oil &  pour 1... Pola / Pesaha Appam

Pola Ingredients2 cups rice flour10 g fresh yeast 1 tsp sugar 1 cup semolina 1 cup coconut milk 1/2 tsp saltMethodDilute yeast in luke warm water with 1 tsp sugar . "Salon du livre"- Paris Book Fair

Paris Book Fair India was the guest of honour at the Paris Book Fair 2007. In this occasion, French invited Indian authors &  publishers. Some of them were Vikram Seth, Shashi Tharoor, M. T Vasudevan Nair, Gita Hariharan, Shashi Deshpande, Kalpana Swaminathan, Pavan K. Varma, Ravi Shankar Etteth, Sudhir Kakar, Sarnath Banergee, Vaiju Naravane- Journalist & Publisher of "The Hindu". Some Indian books were translated into French language.
