Santuário Bom Jesús do Monte, Braga , Portugal.

 Bom Jesús do Monte / Good Jesus of the Mount     The sanctuary of "Good Jesus of the Mount" is situated in Tenões , a few km away from Braga. This is one of the oldest Cathedrals in Portugal. A chapel dedicated to Holy Cross was indicated on the hilltop (116m) around 1373.  The present Neo-classical church was built by Carlos Amarante in 1784. The Baroque style ziz zag stairway is quite impressive. Cabo Da Roca, Sintra, Portugal.

Cabo Da Roca   Cabo Da Roca is the western most tip of Portugal & the Continental Europe. It is located in the Sintra -Cascais Natural Park & is 144 ft above sea level. This is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discoveries Monument, Lisbon.

Discoveries Monument The Discoveries Monument was first built for the 1940 World Exibition. It was demolished & the same was rebuilt in 1960 for the 500th death anniversary of Henry the Navigator. This majestic monument is erected at the Marina of Belém, where Vasco da Gama embarked after his voyage to India (1847). Vasco da Gama Bridge, Lisbon.

Vasco da Gama Bridge The Ponte Vasco da Gama is the longest road bridge(17.2 km) in Europe. This 6 lane cable-stayed bridge was designed by Armando Rito. It connects Lisbon to the southern part of Portugal by crossing the Tangus River. This was inaugurated on 29th Mar '98 for the Lisbon Expo 1998 World fair. The bridge was named "Ponte Vasco da Gama" to honour the explorer & to celebrate his 500th anniversary of discovering the direct sea route to India.
