Ingredients

1 cup - Yellow lentils/Toor dal /T
huvaraparippu
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3 shallots
2 tomatoes
15 ladies finger(Okra)
1 tbsp Sambar powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil
lemon size tamarind pulp
For seasoning
1 tsp mustard seeds
curry leaves
Method
Wash & cook lentils with turmeric powder.
Soak tamarind in water & keep aside for 10 min.Extract the juice.
Heat oil in a sauce pan.
Splutter mustard seeds,curry leaves
Fry chopped vegetables (okra & shallots ).
Add sambar power & fry again.
Add tamarind extract, chopped tomatoes & salt.
Simmer till the vegetables are cooked.
Add cooked dal.
Cook for 5 min & remove from fire.

Garnish with fresh curry leaves .
Serve with rice / Idli / Dosa.
