Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada

Louise Lakeshore is one of the busiest & the most spectacular walking trails in the Canadian Rockies. Stoney Indian name of this lake was " Lake of Little Fishes". Later it was called " Lake Louise"  to honour Princess Louise , fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of Lord Lorne, Governor General of Canada. Now there are so many nick names - Hiking Capital of Canada, Skiing Capital of Canada , Diamond in the Wilderness, Jewel in the Heart of the Rockies etc.. This is the only place where one can see the Lake & it's feeding Victoria Glacier as it's background . The  glacial melt water contains a fine silt which stays suspended in the water reflecting the green rays of the spectrum. So the colour of the Lake Louise varies between emerald green & opaque turquoise, depending on the light.
