Stir Fried Kovakka / Ivy Gourd

Ingredients

250 g kovakka (vertically sliced)
2 onions (chopped)
2 tbsp dessicated coconut/ freshly grated
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp water
Salt to taste
Curry leaves
Oil for frying
To temper
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp musturd seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 dried red chilli
1/2 tsp urud dal seeds

Method
Deep fry the sliced kovakka in a pan or in deep fryer.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.
Heat oil in a pan .
Splutter musturd seeds along with cumin seeds & urud daal seeds.
Then add coconut, curry leaves & chopped onions .
Fry till light golden brown .
Add deep fried kovakka along with chilli powder, tumeric powder & salt.
Stir well so that all are the ingredients are  mixed.
Cover & cook for 2 min, with 2 tbsp water.
Garnish with curry leaves & serve with rice.
