Plantain - Mussel Curry

Ingredients
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
 
3 tbsp freshly grated coconut

1 big green plantain (cut in cubes)
15 fresh mussels(medium size)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp tumeric powder
 1 garlic clove (chopped) 
1/2 tsp cumin powder 
Salt to taste
For seasoning
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp grated coconut
1 dried red chilli
Curry leaves
Method
Grind the first three ingredients into smooth paste & keep aside.
With a knife open the shell of the mussel, cut off the beard & wash.
Using a knife / shell , scoop out the flesh.
Marinate mussels in chilli & turmeric & salt.
Wash, peel & cut plantain in small cubes.
Cook the plantain cubes with sufficient amount of water with a pinch of turmeric powder & salt. 
When cooked, add marinated mussels along with chopped garlic.
Cover & cook for a while.
Then add coconut paste & stir well.
  Remove from fire & let it cool.

Heat oil in a pan.
Splutter mustard seeds,curry leaves & red chilli.
then fry grated coconut to golden brown.
Add this to the prepared curry .
Garnish with fresh curry leaves & cumin powder.
Serve with rice.
