Tamilnadu Prawn Fritters
Prawn Vada
Ingredient
20 prawns (fresh)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste

An egg(optional)
1 green chilli(chopped)
Asmall piece of ginger(chopped)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp hing
1 tsp fennel seeds
Salt to taste
5 tbsp gram flour
3 tbsp rice flour
Chopped curry leaves
Oil for frying
Method
Shell, devein and wash prawns using salt and turmeric.
Mix first 3 ingredients & keep in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Beat an egg with chopped curryleaves, chilli & ginger.
Add both the flours (gram + rice) & mix well.
If the batter is thick add some water.
Keep aside for 15 min.
Add chilli powder, hing & fennel seeds.

Heat oil in a frying pan.
Dip the marinated prawns in the batter & deep fry them.
U can prepare 4/5 vada's at the same time.
Cook both sides until golden brown.
Remove using a slotted spoon & drain on a kitchen paper.
Serve hot with tea or as a starter.
