                                Barceloneta Beach


 Barceloneta beach is one of most beautiful sandy beaches in the world. This 1100m long beach stretches from  Barceloneta to Port Vell . The long avenue parallel to the beach was created in 1753. The sail shaped Hotel Vela (W-Hotel) is quite impressive. The walkway is lined with sea food restaurents , nightclubs & casinos. The Port Olimpic de Barcelone is a stylish marina created during 1992 Olympic games. It includes two twin skyscapers  Mapfre Tower (Torre Mapfre) & a glittering gold fish sculpture Peix D'or.  At the centre of the square - Plaça de  la Porta de Pau is  a monument for Christopher Columbus popularly called Column Columbus. Nearby is the magificent Port Vell ( The Old Port) . A wooden promenade bridge (La Rambla de Mar)  connects to a  mall (Mol D'Espanya) with  several seafood restaurents, a supermarket Maremagnum, Barcelona Aquarium & an IMAX.
