Blue Berry Muffins

Blue Berry MuffinsIngredients (12 muffins)250g flour125g butter100g sugarA pnich of salt 3 eggs 1 tsp baking powder Blue berries (48)MethodPreheat oven to 180°C.In a bowl beat eggs. Cream together the butter, sugar & salt .Add beaten egg & mix well.Sieve the flour and baking powder together and fold into the cake mixture.Pour the batter into the greased 12 hole muffin tray. Decorate with blue berries (4 in each hole) .Bake for 15- 20mn until risen & golden-brown.

Hottentot Plant (Carpobrotus edulis)

Griffe de Sorcière The coastal areas of Portugal & Spain are carpeted with these magnificent flowers. Exists in two colours (Yellow & Pink). The leaves are succulent and it's  juice is used as an antiseptic.The fruits are edible & looks like a  fig. The Portuguese navigators used to carry these figs during their expedition.

Poached Pears Ingredients 4 medium ripe pears (Conference) 3 cloves 1/2 of a vanilla pod 1 cinnamon stick1 star anise375 cl red wineA pinch of nutmeg powder75g cane sugar Method Wash & peel pears leaving the stem intact.
